Wolves Sporting Director Suspended for Misconduct

Wolverhampton Wanderers' sporting director, Matt Hobbs, has received a two-match ground ban and a £7,000 fine from the Football Association for misconduct following the team's 2-1 defeat to Manchester City on October 20. The charge stemmed from Hobbs confronting match officials in the tunnel area after the controversial decision to allow John Stones' injury-time goal, initially disallowed due to offside, to stand. Hobbs admitted to using abusive language towards the officials, marking his second misconduct incident in less than a year; he previously faced a one-match suspension and a £4,000 fine for similar behavior. He will be prohibited from attending upcoming matches against Crystal Palace and Southampton due to the sanctions imposed by an independent Regulatory Commission. The FA emphasized that such conduct is unacceptable in the sport.
