Brewers Option Tobias Myers Recall Elvis Peguero

The Milwaukee Brewers have optioned right-hander Tobias Myers to Triple-A Nashville after a rocky start to the 2025 season. Myers, who was sidelined with an oblique strain early in the season, posted a 3.86 ERA and struggled with command, reflected in a 13.3% walk rate and a dip in strikeouts to 14.7%, which concerned the Brewers about his reliability in the rotation. Despite a strong rookie season in 2024, where he posted a 3.00 ERA and was a key rotation piece, Myers' inconsistency this year, including a recent four-inning start allowing two runs, contributed to the decision. The move also clears a roster spot for Brandon Woodruff, who is nearing a return from injury, as well as other injured pitchers like Aaron Civale. Right-hander Elvis Peguero was recalled to the major league roster to replace Myers. The Brewers hope Myers will regain form in Triple-A and likely get another opportunity in the majors.
