Man Arrested After Carjacking Attempt in Connecticut

William Rodriguez, a 28-year-old man from New Haven, was arrested following an attempted carjacking at a Dunkin' drive-thru in East Haven, Connecticut. Rodriguez allegedly parked a stolen vehicle in front of a pregnant woman's car, entered through the passenger side, and demanded her keys, physically assaulting her when she refused. The victim managed to escape and sought help inside the restaurant, prompting Dunkin' employees to confront Rodriguez and restrain him until police arrived. He was taken into custody after a struggle and reportedly bit a paramedic during treatment. Rodriguez faces multiple charges, including assault on a pregnant person and robbery, and had outstanding warrants totaling $475,000. He is currently held on a $250,000 bond.
