The long-anticipated film adaptation of the video game Sleeping Dogs has been officially canceled, as confirmed by actor Donnie Yen. Yen, who was set to star in and produce the film, expressed disappointment after investing significant time and money into the project, which has been in development limbo since its announcement in 2017. Despite initial excitement and promises of progress, nothing substantial had emerged since 2018, leading many fans to suspect the project's demise. The film was to be directed by Timo Tjahjanto and based on the critically acclaimed 2012 game about an undercover cop in Hong Kong.
