Mets Sign Dylan Covey to One-Year Contract
The New York Mets have bolstered their bullpen by signing veteran pitcher Dylan Covey to a one-year contract. Covey, who spent the 2024 season recovering from a shoulder injury, posted a 2.66 ERA over 20.1 innings in the minor leagues. Previously, in 2023, he played for the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers, achieving a 3.69 ERA in 27 relief appearances. Over his career, Covey has a 6.18 ERA in the majors with a 7-32 record. Alongside Covey, the Mets have also added right-hander Chris Devenski on a minor-league deal as part of their strategy to enhance bullpen depth. Covey's experience includes stints in the MLB and the Chinese Professional Baseball League, where he was a notable starter.
