David Weiss Found Dead Amid Child Pornography Investigation

David Weiss, the former chief of schools for Jeffco Public Schools in Colorado, was found dead in Maryland amid an investigation into allegations of possessing child sexual abuse material. The 47-year-old was discovered at Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historic Park shortly after New Year's Day, while visiting family for the holidays. Weiss had been fired from his position on December 19 after the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation into the allegations. The cause of his death is pending autopsy results, which could take up to 90 days. Despite his death, the investigation into Weiss's actions will continue, as stated by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. Jeffco Public Schools oversees a large district with over 155 schools and approximately 77,000 students.
