Alcaraz Leads Europe to Fifth Laver Cup Win

Carlos Alcaraz led Team Europe to a thrilling 13-11 victory over Team World in the Laver Cup 2024 in Berlin. Alcaraz’s crucial wins, including a decisive 6-2, 7-5 victory over Taylor Fritz, were instrumental in overturning an 8-4 deficit on the final day. The 21-year-old also partnered with Casper Ruud to secure an important doubles win against Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe. Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev contributed to the comeback, with Zverev’s victory over Tiafoe being pivotal. Captain Björn Borg celebrated his last game as Team Europe’s leader with this fifth title. Both Borg and John McEnroe are set to be replaced by Andre Agassi and Yannick Noah in the next edition, which will be held in San Francisco.
