Production Wraps Milly Alcock Supergirl Film DC Universe

Filming for 'Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow,' directed by Graig Gillespie and starring Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, has officially wrapped, as confirmed by DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn. The movie, part of the new DC Universe's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, began production in January 2025 across locations like Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, London, Scotland, and Iceland. The film adapts the Eisner Award-nominated 2021-2022 comic series by Tom King and Bilquis Evely, portraying a more jaded and intergalactic version of Supergirl who travels the universe with Superman's dog Krypto. Notable cast members include Jason Momoa as the intergalactic bounty hunter Lobo, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, and David Krumholtz as Supergirl's father Zor-El. With a scheduled release date of June 26, 2026, the project is now entering post-production, where visual effects, sound design, and editing will be completed to realize the film's distinct vision for the DCU. James Gunn has praised Alcock as his first choice for the role, highlighting her authenticity and edge that fit the character.
