North Las Vegas Police Wins Top Agency at Annual K-9 Trials

The 33rd annual LVMPD Police K-9 Trials took place in Las Vegas, showcasing the skills of K-9 teams from across the U.S. The North Las Vegas Police Department earned the Top Agency award, while K9 Axl from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office was named Top Dog, and K9 Storm from Culver City Police Department received the Tough Dog award. The event highlighted the rigorous training and teamwork between handlers and their K9 partners, featuring competitions in narcotics detection, tactical operations, and agility. Lieutenant Jeff Goodwin emphasized the crucial role of K9s in enhancing officer safety and reducing the likelihood of officer-involved shootings.
