U.S. Coast Guard, Customs Seize 30K Pounds of Cocaine Across Borders

U.S. authorities have made multiple significant cocaine seizures in recent months, highlighting ongoing efforts to disrupt drug trafficking networks. At the Detroit-Windsor border, customs officers intercepted nearly 200 pounds of cocaine in an empty transport truck bound for Canada, marking the third such seizure at this crossing since March. Meanwhile, the U.S. Coast Guard seized roughly 10,000 pounds of cocaine from a fishing vessel in the mid-Atlantic, a region increasingly used for trans-Atlantic trafficking to Europe, and apprehended five suspected smugglers. Additionally, the Coast Guard cutter Kimball offloaded nearly 19,000 pounds of cocaine in San Diego, intercepted during several operations off the coasts of Mexico, Central, and South America. These coordinated actions underscore the Coast Guard's and Customs' commitment to targeting transnational criminal organizations and disrupting the flow of illicit narcotics both at U.S. borders and internationally.
