Oklahoma baseball maintains undefeated streak, defeats Texas Southern 5-4, sweeps series

The Oklahoma Sooners baseball team maintained their perfect start to the season with an 8-0 record after sweeping a two-game series against Texas Southern, winning 15-4 and 5-4 at L. Dale Mitchell Park. In the first game, Oklahoma scored early, highlighted by two three-run home runs, while sophomore pitcher Jacob Gholston earned his first career win despite struggling with walks. The second game was more challenging, as the Sooners built a 5-0 lead only to withstand a late rally from the Tigers, securing the win with key pitching performances from a mix of young arms, including freshman Landon Victorian and Michael Catalano. Texas Southern's comeback attempt fell short, with the Sooners' Dylan Crooks striking out the last two batters to preserve the victory.
