Stamos Defends Loughlin, Blames Giannulli After Split

John Stamos defended his longtime Full House co-star Lori Loughlin on the Good Guys podcast, calling her "a saint" and saying he is heartbroken for her after reports that she and husband Mossimo Giannulli separated after nearly 28 years. He blamed Giannulli — calling him a "terrible narcissist" and an "a--hole" — and recounted Loughlin telling him "Mossimo handles all that stuff," saying she seemed unaware of the 2019 college admissions scheme. The scandal, part of Operation Varsity Blues, allegedly involved paying about $500,000 to have their daughters listed as fake USC rowing recruits; both pleaded guilty in 2020. Loughlin served roughly two months in jail and Giannulli about five months; they also completed supervised release, performed community service and paid fines. Stamos said he has tried to support Loughlin through the scandal and the reported split and reiterated his belief she had little or no knowledge of the scheme and did not deserve to be "dragged through that."
