Bennett emphasized the need for players to change their behavior when they make mistakes and expressed confidence in Mitchell's ability to rebound from this setback. He stated that Mitchell's on-field success should define him, rather than off-field issues. Despite not currently coaching at South Sydney, Bennett believes the club will effectively manage Mitchell's situation. The Rabbitohs have confirmed that they will handle the matter and support Mitchell moving forward.
