Seven Indian Startups Join India-U.S. Defense Program

Seven Indian startups have been selected for a pioneering India-U.S. space and defense collaboration program, which aims to facilitate access to the lucrative U.S. defense market. The initiative, launched by Indusbridge Ventures and FedTech, will allow these companies to work closely with the U.S. Defense Innovation Unit and other government agencies on advanced technologies in satellite observation and defense. Participants like KaleidEO and EtherealX will gain mentorship and potential contracts with major U.S. defense firms, including Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin, enhancing their competitiveness in a market worth approximately $1.5 billion annually. This collaboration reflects India's strategic shift to bolster its defense and space industries while reducing reliance on traditional partners like Russia. The program, part of the India-U.S. Defense Acceleration Ecosystem launched in 2023, signifies a significant step towards deeper technological cooperation between the two nations.
