BBC Proms 2025 Features 86 Concerts Across UK

The BBC Proms 2025, running from July 18 to September 13, will feature 86 concerts across the UK, with 72 at London’s Royal Albert Hall and the rest in cities like Bristol, Bradford, Gateshead, Belfast, and Sunderland, emphasizing inclusivity and accessibility. This season stands out for its global reach, showcasing leading international orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic, Leipzig Gewandhaus, and Royal Concertgebouw, alongside soloists like Yunchan Lim and Hilary Hahn. Diversity is further highlighted by the Last Night of the Proms being led entirely by women and the involvement of Chineke!, Europe's first majority Black and ethnically diverse orchestra. Contemporary music is at the forefront, with 19 premieres including works by Camille Pépin and Oscar-winner Rachel Portman, as well as genre-crossing collaborations like a Traitors-themed concert hosted by Claudia Winkleman and late-night jazz and soul events. The return of the overnight Prom, curated by Anna Lapwood, marks the first all-night event since 1983, and the Proms will also celebrate major anniversaries such as the 50th of Shostakovich’s death. Tickets go on sale May 17, with affordable options and special Promming tickets available to encourage wide audience participation.
