The NCAA Division I Council has voted to shorten transfer portal windows for football and basketball from 45 to 30 days, despite considering the elimination of the spring window. For football, the winter window will be 20 days (Dec. 9-28), and the spring window will be 10 days (April 16-25). Basketball's transfer window will open the day after the second round of the NCAA Tournaments.
