Two Former Ocean City Officers Killed in Virginia, Pennsylvania Shootings

Two former Ocean City police officers were tragically killed over the weekend in separate shooting incidents in Virginia and Pennsylvania. Officer Cameron Girvin, aged 25, was fatally shot during a traffic stop in Virginia, while Officer Andrew Duarte, 30, was killed during an active shooter incident at a hospital in Pennsylvania. Both officers had begun their law enforcement careers in Ocean City, with Girvin serving as a public safety aide before joining the Virginia Beach Police Department in 2020, and Duarte previously working with the Denver Police Department before transferring to West York Borough in 2022.
