Karen Read, recently acquitted of second-degree murder and manslaughter in the death of her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O’Keefe, is partnering with her lead defense attorney Alan Jackson and LBI Productions to develop a scripted project about her case. The project aims to reveal new details not previously disclosed to the public and to explore themes of justice, power, and corruption, highlighting Read's struggle against what she describes as a small group of powerful people 'above the law.' The case, which drew national media attention and sparked public debate, included allegations that Read, while driving under the influence, struck O’Keefe with her vehicle and left the scene, claims she and her defense have disputed, asserting he was murdered inside his home and placed outside.
