In celebration of International Youth Day, the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) has launched a two-month 'Intensified IEC Campaign' aimed at raising awareness about HIV/AIDS and related issues across India. This initiative will involve activities at state, district, and village levels, specifically targeting youth to promote safe practices and reduce stigma associated with HIV. In Jammu and Kashmir, local AIDS Control Societies initiated similar campaigns, while Andhra Pradesh's health department launched the 'Meeku Telusa?' campaign to foster awareness about HIV and STIs. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of Himachal Pradesh will inaugurate a state-level campaign that includes free testing for HIV and other diseases, emphasizing community participation. Meanwhile, the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society is set to begin its campaign on August 12, focusing on equipping the population with accurate information and promoting preventive measures. These coordinated efforts reflect a nationwide commitment to combat HIV/AIDS and improve public health education.
