Colorado College Hockey Sweeps Northern Michigan

In their season opener, the Northern Michigan University hockey team narrowly lost to No. 12 Colorado College 4-3 in overtime, demonstrating resilience by tying the game twice in the third period. Goalie Ryan Ouellette was instrumental, making 45 saves, a record for a Wildcat goalie since 2019. However, the Tigers showcased their strength in the following game, decisively defeating NMU 6-1 with three goals in the third period. Meanwhile, Northern Colorado ended an 18-game losing streak with a 21-17 victory over Weber State, highlighted by Darius Stewart's late fourth-quarter touchdown run. This marked the Bears' first win since November 2022, as they capitalized on Weber State's late-game turnovers. Northern Colorado's offense was bolstered by a strong rushing game, accumulating 205 yards on the ground, paving the way for a much-needed victory.
