Wrexham Defender Will Boyle Joins Shrewsbury Town on Two-Year Deal

Will Boyle, the 29-year-old defender, has left Wrexham with a year remaining on his contract to join League Two club Shrewsbury Town on a two-year deal. Boyle's playing time at Wrexham was limited last season due to injuries and competition from other defenders, leading the club and player to agree that a move was best to avoid him becoming a 'forgotten man.' At Shrewsbury, Boyle joins several new signings and brings valuable experience, having been part of back-to-back promotions with Wrexham and prior success at Cheltenham Town. Shrewsbury's director of football, Micky Moore, praised Boyle as a natural leader whose experience will be critical on and off the pitch as the club aims to bounce back after relegation. Despite limited appearances last season, Boyle has a history of durability and leadership, and he also serves on the Professional Footballers’ Association Players’ Board. The move is part of Wrexham's squad reshaping, including loaning out striker Paul Mullin to Wigan Athletic to accommodate new signings.
