Refik Anadol has announced plans to open Dataland, the world's first museum dedicated to AI art, in downtown Los Angeles in 2025, strategically located near the Walt Disney Concert Hall where he previously showcased his work. The museum will serve as an anchor for The Grand LA, a $1 billion development also designed by Frank Gehry, and aims to blend architecture with cutting-edge technology to create a new art form termed 'generative reality.' Dataland will feature works that incorporate machine learning and data visualization, including pieces generated by Anadol's Large Nature Model, which uses images from renowned institutions. Anadol, a leader in AI-generated art, expressed excitement about establishing a permanent space to further explore the intersection of art and technology, positioning Los Angeles as the ideal city for this venture.
