Reds Activate Díaz, McLain, Hays for Mariners Series
The Cincinnati Reds have activated key players Alexis Díaz, Matt McLain, and Austin Hays from the injured list ahead of their series against the Seattle Mariners. Díaz, who had been dealing with a hamstring strain, was initially projected to be the team's closer but will not immediately return to this role. McLain, returning from a hamstring injury, will play second base, while Hays, recovering from a calf strain, will debut as designated hitter. In corresponding roster moves, outfielder Jacob Hurtubise and infielder Noelvi Marte were optioned to Triple-A Louisville. Despite these injuries, the Reds have recently performed well, winning six of their last eight games. Hays joined the Reds this offseason on a one-year, $5 million deal, aiming to boost the team's offensive production.
