Kongsberg Secures Historic US Navy Missile Contract

Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace has secured a landmark multi-year contract with the US Navy for the delivery of Naval Strike Missiles (NSM), valued at NOK 10 billion, with the potential to reach NOK 12 billion. This contract represents the largest missile deal in KONGSBERG's history and emphasizes the increasing demand for their advanced missile systems among NATO allies. The NSM will be integrated into the Navy’s Over-the-Horizon Weapons System and deployed on Littoral Combat Ships and CONSTELLATION-class Frigates. KONGSBERG plans to bolster its production capabilities with the opening of a new missile factory in Virginia and additional facilities in Australia. CEO Geir Håøy highlighted the contract's significance for both US and Norwegian defense collaboration. The deal underscores Kongsberg's role as a key player in the global defense sector, particularly amidst rising military needs.
