Barry Hearn Advocates Prostate Cancer Awareness

Barry Hearn, president of the Professional Darts Corporation, revealed he underwent successful prostate surgery after being inspired by The BIGGER 180 campaign, which encourages men to get checked for prostate cancer. Launched by Paddy Power in collaboration with Prostate Cancer UK, the campaign pledges £1,000 for every 180 scored during the PDC World Darts Championship to raise funds for the charity. Hearn emphasized the importance of regular health checks, stating, 'What does it cost? It doesn't cost anything. Why wouldn't you? Are you stupid? Do you want to die?' He expressed gratitude for the campaign, noting it provided the necessary nudge for him to address his health issues. Prostate Cancer UK's Laura Kerby highlighted the campaign's success, having raised almost half a million pounds so far. Hearn's advocacy for health awareness follows his previous health challenges, including two heart attacks.
