During their 25-minute drive, Maurice recognized Bumstead's potential, stating, 'Oh, that’s a coach.' This summer, she participated in the Panthers' development camp, leading to her recent role on the bench. Bumstead is part of the NHL Coaches Association Female Coaches Program, aimed at supporting women in coaching, alongside around 100 other women, including Melissa Samoskevich.
