Warren officer injured, suspect arrested in police chase crash

A Warren police officer was seriously injured during a pursuit of a suspect who fled a traffic stop for a license plate violation on February 13. The suspect, a 33-year-old man, failed to stop for police and subsequently ran a red light at Eight Mile Road, colliding with two other vehicles. As the pursuing officer approached the intersection, he was involved in a separate crash, requiring extrication and hospitalization, though his injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening. The suspect's 12-year-old daughter, a passenger in his vehicle, was also hospitalized with minor injuries. The driver was arrested at the scene and is awaiting charges, while the occupants of the other vehicles involved were unharmed. The Warren Police Department's Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident.
