Ben Stokes Open to White-Ball Return

Ben Stokes, the England Test captain, expressed openness to returning to white-ball cricket if new coach Brendon McCullum reaches out to him. Stokes, who has played pivotal roles in England's World Cup victories in 2019 and 2022, had retired from ODI cricket in 2022 due to burnout but made a comeback for the 2023 World Cup, where England struggled. Although Stokes has not discussed a potential return with McCullum yet, he is focused on regaining fitness ahead of the upcoming Test series against Pakistan. He praised McCullum’s coaching, noting that having a unified approach across formats will benefit the team. Stokes affirmed his contentment with his achievements in white-ball cricket but indicated he wouldn't be disappointed if he doesn't receive a call to return. His last white-ball appearance was during the 2023 World Cup, and he has since prioritized recovery from injuries.
