Teams Seek Injunction Against NASCAR Charter System

23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports have filed a preliminary injunction in their ongoing antitrust lawsuit against NASCAR, seeking to ensure they can compete as chartered teams in 2025. The teams, which are challenging NASCAR's charter system, claim it restricts competition and unfairly binds teams with onerous agreements. Both organizations were the only ones among 15 that did not sign the new charter agreements, alleging NASCAR engages in monopolistic practices. They are also pursuing expedited discovery to gain access to critical documents from NASCAR executives to bolster their case. NASCAR has been given two weeks to respond to the injunction request.
