Petaluma Police Chase Ends in Fatal Teen Crash

A police pursuit in Petaluma, California, ended in a fatal rollover crash late Saturday night when officers tried to stop a suspected intoxicated 17-year-old driver who was reportedly swerving into oncoming traffic. The driver of a stolen Kia Soul fled from police, sideswiped another vehicle, and crashed near Old Lakeville Highway Road No. 1, causing all four teenage occupants to be ejected. One passenger, 14-year-old Aldo Rodriguez Cazarez of Novato, died at the scene, while the driver and two other passengers, ages 15 and 16, suffered serious but stable injuries and remain hospitalized. The driver is suspected of DUI and will face multiple charges, including vehicular manslaughter, upon release. Authorities from the Santa Rosa Police Department and California Highway Patrol are investigating the crash, and the relationship between the teens is still under review. All involved teens are from Marin County.
