PortMiami Workers Arrested for $50K Art Heist

Two Miami-Dade County custodial employees, Angel Prudhomme and Tangela Parks, were arrested after stealing over $50,000 worth of artwork from PortMiami's Terminal G on May 12. Surveillance footage captured Prudhomme removing the artwork, concealing it in stairwells and trash bags, and then loading it into Parks' vehicle. Of the 24 pieces stolen, 12 were damaged during the theft and improper transport, while the remaining pieces were found at Prudhomme’s home. Both suspects admitted to the theft, with Parks also confessing to stealing additional items from the port. Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz emphasized the county's commitment to holding employees accountable for abusing their positions. Prudhomme and Parks were charged with grand theft, and Prudhomme faces an additional charge of criminal mischief.
