Nigeria vs. Libya Match Postponed Over Airport Issue

The Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Nigeria and Libya was postponed after the Nigerian team refused to play due to being stranded at a Libyan airport for over 16 hours without food, water, or communication. The Nigerian Football Federation accused Libya of deliberately diverting their flight to an unsuitable airport, citing safety concerns for not traveling by road to the game venue. Nigerian captain William Troost-Ekong stated the team would not play under such conditions, and the Confederation of African Football is investigating the incident. Libya denied any wrongdoing, attributing the situation to logistical issues and recalling previous travel difficulties they faced in Nigeria. Nigeria had previously won the first leg of the matchup 1-0 in Lagos, Nigeria. Both federations have lodged complaints with the CAF, which has promised to take action against any violations.
