Shoals, UGT Renewables Launch 12GW Global Solar Collaboration

Shoals Technologies Group and UGT Renewables have signed a memorandum of understanding to co-develop up to 12 gigawatts of solar projects in emerging markets, aiming to accelerate the global energy transition and support sustainable development. Their initial collaboration focuses on two solar parks with a combined capacity of 600 MW in Angola's Southern Provinces, with deployment set to begin this year and construction expected in 2025. These projects, financed by the U.S. EXIM Bank, are designed to electrify 60% of Angola's population and provide clean water to over 1.1 million people. Shoals brings its expertise in electrical balance of systems (EBOS) solutions, which offer efficient, low-cost energy installations that require less skilled labor, supporting reliable electrification in complex environments. UGT Renewables emphasizes its commitment to partnering with developing economies to diversify their energy matrices through American-led technology and innovation. This partnership highlights the strategic role of solar energy in emerging markets' infrastructure and economic growth.
