DeSantis Leads Trade Mission to Italy

Governor Ron DeSantis is leading a trade mission to Italy from November 11 to 15, alongside 85 representatives from various Florida industries, including higher education, aerospace, and healthcare. The trip aims to enhance Florida's economic ties with Italy, which is its 14th largest trade partner, contributing $4.4 billion in annual bilateral trade. DeSantis emphasized the shared interests between Italy and Florida as peninsular regions and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni for the invitation. Notable members of the delegation include state agency leaders and university presidents, highlighting a focus on sectors like military defense and life sciences. This visit follows DeSantis's previous trip to Ireland and is part of a broader strategy to build international relationships amid his presidential campaign efforts. The delegation will visit key cities including Rome, Florence, and Milan, aiming to foster new investment opportunities for Florida.
