Small Plane Crash Near Casa Grande Injures Pilot
A small single-engine plane crashed near the Casa Grande Municipal Airport after experiencing engine failure while flying between Tucson and Phoenix. The pilot attempted an emergency landing but the plane overturned on the ground just outside the airport. Fire crews found the aircraft upside down with no visible smoke or fire, and the pilot was able to exit the wreckage on his own. He was taken to Banner Casa Grande Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries and was alert and conscious upon rescue. There were no other passengers on the plane. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of the crash.
