Napa Police Search for Missing Mother, Son After Unsupervised Visit

Napa police are searching for 1-year-old Saul Martinez Rafael and his mother, Antonia Rafael-Valasquez, who disappeared during an unsupervised visit on Wednesday afternoon. The child was dropped off at his mother's home by Child Welfare Services for a visit, but when workers returned three hours later, both were missing, and the mother's closet had been cleared out. Authorities are investigating the situation as a potential parental abduction, although there is currently no evidence of foul play. Saul has been in the custody of Child Welfare Services since summer 2024. Police have entered both mother and son into the national missing persons database and are urging anyone with information to contact them. The investigation is ongoing, with Napa police working alongside the Napa County District Attorney’s Office.
