On October 3, 2025, at around 8:25 a.m., a single-decker First Bus crashed into traffic lights and a building on North Frederick Street near George Square in Glasgow city center. Eyewitnesses reported the bus rolling backward before colliding with the corner of the Flight Club bar, narrowly missing pedestrians at the bus stop. Emergency services, including Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service, responded promptly, with the bus driver being taken to hospital; the driver's condition remains unknown. The crash caused damage to two sets of traffic lights, and the road was closed to traffic while the bus was recovered. Police officers remain on the scene as investigations continue.
