MoviePass Launches Mogul Fantasy Film Platform

MoviePass has launched Mogul, a fantasy league platform for film fans that lets users draft actors, directors, and movies to form virtual studios and compete on real-world box office and performance metrics. Developed in partnership with Mysten Labs and Animoca Brands, Mogul operates on the Sui blockchain and follows a free-to-play model with optional paid upgrades and digital rewards. Users can join tournaments and challenges, with scoring based on audience attendance, critic scores, and awards. While cash prizes are not yet available, MoviePass plans to introduce them in future phases. The beta launch has attracted 400,000 people to the early-access waitlist. The launch is part of MoviePass's strategy to revitalize its brand and compete with other movie subscription services by boosting user engagement.
