Multiple Shooting Incidents Reported in Dayton

Meridian Police are investigating a shooting that injured two individuals, including a young child who was airlifted to a hospital in Jackson. The suspect was taken into custody shortly after the incident. In Dayton, a 19-year-old male was hospitalized following a shooting, while a 32-year-old man was also sent to the hospital after a separate shooting incident. Additionally, a 15-year-old boy was shot multiple times after allegedly stealing a car and crashing it during a police pursuit, with his injuries reported as non-life-threatening. In another incident, a juvenile male was hospitalized after being shot, but provided little information to officers. The Dayton Police Department is actively investigating these incidents.
