Her updated rendition was recorded at the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, where she recently concluded her Reflection residency, the longest-running Las Vegas residency by a solo female country artist. Creative director Tripp Dixon explained that for the 20th season of Sunday Night Football, they aimed to reimagine the anthem to highlight Underwood's powerful vocals alongside stylized visuals and behind-the-scenes moments that capture the essence of the weekly football showcase. Underwood expressed excitement about the collaboration and the high-energy production, which continues to set a high standard for the show’s opening. The anthem, originally performed by Pink and Faith Hill before Underwood took over in 2013, remains a beloved staple for football fans, and Underwood reportedly earns $1 million per week for her performances during the season. The new opening will be previewed during the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game on July 31, 2025, and the NFL season itself kicks off on September 4 with the Philadelphia Eagles facing the Dallas Cowboys.
