Cameron County Approves Election for Starbase City Incorporation

Cameron County has approved an election for residents to decide whether to incorporate SpaceX's Starbase as a new city, with the vote scheduled for May 3, 2025. The petition for incorporation was submitted by over 70 residents, many of whom are SpaceX employees, and it aims to streamline local processes to develop amenities for the growing community. County Judge Eddie Treviño Jr. confirmed that the area meets the necessary requirements for incorporation, making it potentially the newest town in Cameron County since 1995.
