Gjert Ingebrigtsen Indicted for Child Abuse Charges

Gjert Ingebrigtsen, father and former coach of Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen, is set to stand trial in Norway next year on charges of physical abuse against Jakob and another child. The indictment includes serious allegations, such as Gjert allegedly threatening to 'beat [Jakob] to death' and incidents of slapping and kicking dating back to 2008. Both Jakob and his brothers have testified about a history of physical and psychological abuse, claiming their father's behavior has negatively impacted their upbringing.
