ZM Trucks plans U.S. manufacturing plant in Fontana

ZO Motors has announced the opening of its first North American manufacturing plant and regional headquarters in Fontana, California, which will begin production in the first half of 2025. The facility, spanning 9.67 acres with a 210,000-square-foot factory floor, will focus on producing zero-emission commercial vehicles such as electric trucks, terminal tractors, and airport ground support equipment under the ZM Trucks brand. CEO Joost de Vries emphasized that this expansion represents a significant commitment to the U.S. market and sustainable innovation, aiming to lower the total cost of ownership for customers. The new plant is expected to create substantial job opportunities in the region and complements ZO Motors' existing plant in Cambodia, reinforcing its global operations. This strategic move highlights the company's dedication to scaling its operations and advancing cleaner transportation solutions.
