Mölnlycke Launches $135M Brunswick Facility Expansion Supported by Maine Incentive Program
Mölnlycke Health Care has initiated a $135 million expansion of its wound care manufacturing facility at Brunswick Landing in Maine, expected to be completed by early 2027. The project will add new production lines, warehousing, and assembly operations, increasing the company's local workforce by about 30 jobs, a roughly 10% increase. This expansion is supported by Maine's Dirigo Business Incentive Program, a state tax credit initiative aimed at encouraging capital investment and workforce training to address labor shortages and attract businesses. Governor Janet Mills highlighted the company's role in transforming Brunswick Landing into a thriving economic hub, with Mölnlycke's medical products distributed in over 100 countries. Mölnlycke CEO Zlatko Rihter emphasized the importance of producing products closer to the large U.S. market to ensure faster delivery to customers. Local firms Landry French and SMRT have been engaged for construction, architecture, and engineering services related to the expansion.
