Two IDF Reservists Wounded, One Soldier Killed Near Gaza

Sgt. Maj. (res.) Dejen Daniel Sahalo, a 41-year-old reservist from Rehovot serving in the IDF Combat Engineering Corps’ 5067th Battalion, was killed in an operational car accident during military activity near the Gaza border, specifically in the Nahal Oz region. The incident, which took place during operations with the Jerusalem Brigade, is under investigation by the military. The death of Sahalo brings the number of IDF troops killed since October 2023 to over 850, with the conflict continuing to result in casualties on both sides. Additionally, recent days have seen other Israeli soldiers wounded in attacks in the West Bank, including a shooting near the Reihan checkpoint and a car-ramming and stabbing near Hebron, underscoring the persistent volatility in the region.
