Mob Burns Home and Shop Over Alleged Elopement

In Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, a mob set fire to the house and shop of Mohd Saddam, a 21-year-old Muslim man, after he allegedly eloped with a 20-year-old Hindu woman from the same village. The woman's family had initially filed a missing persons complaint but later stated they didn't want action against Saddam. Despite this, tensions escalated, and the mob attacked Saddam's property and a police vehicle. The police managed to escape, and additional forces were deployed to control the situation. Two FIRs have been registered: one against the mob for rioting and another against Saddam for abduction. Several police officers were suspended for negligence, and over 100 police personnel are now deployed to maintain order.
