Maryland Task Force Disrupts Illegal Car Rallies

On November 30, 2024, Maryland law enforcement agencies, led by the Maryland Car Rally Task Force, conducted a major operation to dismantle ten illegal car rallies across several counties, including Baltimore City, resulting in five arrests—four of whom were juveniles. The crackdown took place during the late hours, with approximately 300 individuals and vehicles illegally occupying the roadway at an event on Park Avenue, prompting police intervention. Josue Emanuel Hernandez Cordon, an 18-year-old from Laurel, was charged with multiple traffic offenses and investigated for possessing a replica firearm. The task force also recovered stolen vehicles, including a black Camaro SS and a Nissan 370Z, both linked to prior illegal activities. Authorities believe the Camaro was involved in previous car rallies and potentially an armed robbery in Washington, D.C.
