Suspect Arrested at UnitedHealthcare After Intruder Report

A suspect was arrested near UnitedHealthcare's headquarters in Minnetonka, Minnesota, following reports of an intruder and a large police presence on Monday morning. The individual was detained without incident, and officials confirmed there was no threat to the public. This heightened response comes in the wake of increased security measures following the December 2024 murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York City. Although police have not disclosed the motive behind the intruder's presence, they clarified that the incident is unrelated to Thompson's assassination. The alleged murderer, Luigi Mangione, is facing both state and federal charges, and the U.S. Attorney General has announced plans to seek the death penalty. UnitedHealthcare has since hired additional security to patrol the campus regularly.
