Avalanche Wear Nordiques Throwbacks Starting Oct. 23

The Colorado Avalanche will wear Quebec Nordiques throwback jerseys seven times this season as part of their 30th‑anniversary Heritage Series honoring the franchise’s Quebec roots. The first game wearing the Nordiques uniforms is Oct. 23 against the Carolina Hurricanes, and the seven‑game slate includes six home games and one road appearance (Jan. 12 at Toronto). The jersey features a blue, red and white French‑flag palette, an igloo crest shaped like an “N,” and fleur‑de‑lis accents. Jerseys will be available online beginning at 10 a.m. MT and in person at Noon MT at the Altitude Authentics store at Ball Arena; tickets and a Heritage Series package (including a limited‑edition Nordiques hat for select home games) are being sold through Ticketmaster and ColoradoAvalanche.com. The throwback honors the Nordiques franchise that entered the NHL in 1979, played 17 seasons in Quebec, and relocated to Denver in 1995 before Colorado won its first Stanley Cup the following season.
