The Indian Navy, in coordination with Omani authorities, has rescued nine crew members, including eight Indians and one Sri Lankan, from the Comoros-flagged oil tanker MT Falcon Prestige, which capsized off the coast of Oman on July 15. The tanker was en route from the UAE to Yemen when it sank 25 nautical miles southeast of Ras Madrakah, leaving 16 crew members, 13 of whom are Indian, missing. Search and rescue operations, involving the Indian Navy's INS Teg and P-8I reconnaissance aircraft, continue amid challenging weather conditions. One crew member has been found dead, but the nationality is yet to be confirmed. The cause of the capsizing is still unknown, and there has been no confirmation about any oil spill. Both Indian and Omani officials remain dedicated to locating the remaining crew members and understanding the incident's cause.
